Obi, a former vice-presidential candidate for the PDP, left the party in 2023 to secure the Labour Party's presidential ticket. He contested against Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, winning in 12 states, including the Federal Capital Territory.
The move to woo Obi back comes amidst his claims of still being a Labour Party member and his willingness to collaborate with a newly formed coalition. Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reportedly resigned from the PDP.
