According to the state Deputy Governor, Malam Mani, the establishment of the small claims courts aims to provide a more efficient and effective means of resolving commercial disputes in the state. Mani explained that the state government has amended several laws and enacted new ones to improve the business environment, including laws related to land administration, taxation, infrastructure development, and business incentives.
The Deputy Governor commended the federal government for establishing PEBEC, which oversees Nigeria's business environment reforms. He noted that Zamfara State has keyed into this initiative by constituting the State Ease of Doing Business Council and domesticating the State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER).
In his remarks, the Zamfara State Focal Person for PEBEC, Sani Bukkuyum, urged stakeholders to actively participate in the town hall meeting and provide meaningful discussions and solutions to assist the government's efforts in building a resilient and inclusive economy.
Other speakers at the event, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Budget, Alhaji Sani Bukkuyum, and the Permanent Secretary of Donors and Multilateral Agencies, Hajiya Saadatu Abdu Gusau, emphasized the importance of collaboration and strategic partnerships in unlocking Zamfara State's full economic potential.
