At an enlightenment campaign on government policies, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, emphasized the need for stakeholders to collaborate with the government to curb the trend. Represented by the Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Ayisola Olowoyo, he described the current situation as alarming, where students exploit the "sign out" system to engage in immoral behavior.
Issa-Onilu stated, "The Federal Government is concerned about the rising immorality among students nationwide. While celebrating success is commendable, it is unacceptable for young people to engage in immoral acts, exposing and touching private parts within educational institutions, which goes against national values."
He emphasized the importance of instilling discipline and values in daily life, highlighting the government's plan to launch a national charter. Issa-Onilu urged parents and school administrators to take responsibility for cautioning their children and students against immorality, particularly in schools.
Additionally, the Osun State Director of NOA, Mr. Adebiyi Stephen, discussed the agency's efforts to collaborate with the state government to educate residents in flood-prone areas on measures to prevent loss of lives and property due to flooding.
