The PDP has dismissed claims that the zoning decision was aimed at glorifying the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike. National Publicity Secretary Mr. Debo Ologunagba emphasized that the move was taken to strengthen the party and ensure stability.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State described the zoning decision as a "sacrifice for unity," emphasizing that politics should be driven by unity rather than personal interest.
Meanwhile, the PDP FCT has endorsed Olawepo-Hashim's candidacy, rejecting the zoning decision. The party's national convention is scheduled for November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan.
