Bandits attacked worshippers during Isha prayer in Matazu town, Katsina State, leaving some people dead and others injured.
The gunmen stormed the mosque at night while people were praying, according to security analyst Bakatsine.
Bakatsine urged the government to act urgently, citing the frequency of attacks on worshippers in the northwest region. Authorities in Katsina State have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
This recent attack bears resemblance to a similar incident in August where bandits killed 13 worshippers during morning prayer in a Katsina mosque.
