Hon. Aminu Gidado Jegawa, Member representing Sokoto South Constituency, commended NEMA for its "timely and compassionate intervention" and appealed for similar assessments in other affected wards and communities in Sokoto South. Jegawa assured victims that he would mobilize additional support and interventions for affected households.
NEMA's efforts in Sokoto are part of its broader response to natural disasters across northern states, where communities continue to face flooding and windstorms. The agency has also intensified its response to flooding in Kaduna State, conducting inspections and rescue operations in affected communities.
