Zamfara: Bandit Attack Claims 3 Lives, Injures 3 in Unguwar Kade

Tragedy struck in Zamfara State on Sunday as armed bandits attacked Unguwar Kade village in Mada district, Gusau Local Government Area, leaving three people dead and three others injured. The bandits stormed the village around 3:00 p.m., opening fire on unsuspecting residents.

According to sources, joint teams of security forces and local hunters were quickly deployed to the scene, but the attackers had already escaped by the time they arrived. The victims were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment and autopsy.

This latest attack is part of a larger pattern of banditry in Zamfara State. Earlier incidents have resulted in loss of life, injury, and abduction of residents. For instance, in April 2025, bandits killed three people and injured several others in Dole Moriki community, Zurmi Local Government Area. Similarly, in July 2025, a police inspector and three members of the Civilian Joint Task Force were killed in a bandit attack in Kwarin Ganuwa village, Tsafe Local Government Area.

The authorities have intensified joint patrols in the area to prevent further attacks and are investigating the incident to apprehend the culprits.
