The retreat, organized by the Zamfara Information and Communications Technology Agency (ZITDA), underscores the state’s push for innovation, transparency, and efficiency. Governor Lawal described the training as a crucial step toward realizing his government’s vision of tech-enabled governance.
"In today’s world, technology is reshaping governance—from decision-making to service delivery. Basic computing skills are no longer optional but essential for effective public service," he said.
The Governor highlighted ZITDA’s ongoing digital reforms, including the Zamfara e-Governance Platform (e-GovConnect), the Digital Literacy Framework, and partnerships with global tech firms to enhance digital skills in the state. He urged participants to apply the knowledge gained to improve productivity, accountability, and service delivery in their ministries.
"Our citizens deserve a smart, connected, and responsive government—and it starts with us," Lawal added. He also announced that participants would undergo an assessment at the end of the training, which would be factored into their performance evaluations.
The initiative reflects Zamfara’s broader strategy to leverage technology for sustainable development and improved governance.
