Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy noted that Tinubu’s recent military reorganization and directives to new service chiefs demonstrated his foresight in countering external threats.
During the decoration of the service chiefs, Tinubu emphasized Nigeria’s intolerance for new security challenges or foreign interference, urging decisive action against emerging armed groups in regions like the North-Central and North-West.
The administration reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to religious freedom and dismissed the CPC designation as politically motivated. Trump’s subsequent hint at potential military action drew criticism from Nigerian officials and civil society, who called the move unjustified.
Tinubu’s government maintains that it is addressing security threats impartially while safeguarding national sovereignty.
