The committee’s role includes facilitating the transfer of facilities and integrating existing students and eligible staff from the College of Health Sciences and Technology into the university system.
A statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Zamfara State Government outlined the committee’s tasks. These include reviewing academic records, transcripts, and program structures of current students to align with JAMB and NUC requirements.
Additionally, the committee will assess the qualifications and experience of staff to determine their eligibility for absorption into the university under its service conditions and NUC standards.
The committee is also expected to propose land for the university’s expansion and explore relocating the College of Health Sciences and Technology to a more suitable site in the state.
Professor Lawal Bilbis chairs the committee, with Professor Bashir Kaka as Co-Chairman. Other members include the Commissioner for Education, Science & Technology, Dr. Abubakar Mohammad Gusau as Secretary, and Mukhtar Rabiu as Deputy Secretary, among others.
