The Zamfara State Police Command has announced the successful completion of a joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) sweep operation along the Gusau–Magami–Dansadau Road.
The operation was conducted following an incident on 27th December 2025, when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded along the Magami–Dansadau axis, resulting in the loss of eight lives and property damage.
In response, the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Police Command, directed the EOD Base 25 in Gusau to conduct a thorough sweep of the affected area to ensure public safety.
A joint operation involving the Police EOD Team, Military EOD operatives, and the Joint Task Force under Operation Fansa-Yamma was carried out. The exercise, led by the Officer-in-Charge of EOD with security support, was successfully concluded on 30th December 2025.
After the operation, the Gusau–Magami–Dansadau Road was cleared and declared safe for normal movement.
