In a public notice, NAFDAC referenced a recall issued by French authorities (Rappel Conso of France) for the same product, citing undeclared allergens (milk and eggs) that could pose health risks to consumers with allergies or intolerances.
While the agency noted that the likelihood of the recalled product entering Nigeria is low—given the federal government’s ban on noodle imports—it emphasized the need for caution. NAFDAC has begun monitoring to prevent possible illicit entry or circulation of the product, including through online purchases or international travel.
Distributors, retailers, and consumers are advised to remain vigilant and avoid distributing, selling, or consuming the recalled product. Those who may already have it are warned not to consume it. The public is also urged to report any suspected sale of the affected noodles.
This alert follows NAFDAC’s recent warning about the circulation of substandard and unregistered edible oils in Nigeria, including brands like FINO, PUR, OKI, SUPER DELICIEX, and LA JONIC, which are being smuggled and sold in major markets across the country.
