Senator Babangida Hussaini Walin Kazaure, representing the Jigawa Northwest Senatorial District, has categorically dismissed recent reports claiming that he intends to contest for the governorship of Jigawa State in the 2027 elections.
In a press statement issued to media outlets, Senator Kazaure said certain individuals have appeared on radio programmes making unfounded allegations about his alleged ambition.
He described the claims as “entirely false” and “deliberately aimed at creating unnecessary tension, division and mischief within the party.”
The Senator emphasized that he and the Governor of Jigawa State remain united members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), working collaboratively and respectfully toward the progress and development of the state.
He referenced a recent incident in which a person identified as Magaji Dogo appeared on Freedom Radio repeating the baseless assertions while wearing a campaign T‑shirt bearing the Senator’s image alongside that of the Governor. Kazaure called the act “highly deceptive and completely untrue.”
Reaffirming his political loyalty, Senator Kazaure pledged continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Malam Umar Namadi:
“I remain firmly loyal to the administration of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to the government of our Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi and my commitment to their leadership and to the continued development of our dear state is firm and consistent.”
He called on the APC leadership to address the spread of misleading narratives, stressing the need to protect the party’s unity, discipline and integrity:
“It is important to safeguard the unity, discipline and integrity of the APC, ensuring that falsehoods and mischief do not distract us from our collective responsibility to build a stronger Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole.”
Senator Kazaure urged the public and party members to disregard the false allegations and to continue supporting the APC’s efforts toward progress and development in Jigawa State
