An eyewitness described how the device caught fire upon impact: "I was at home when we heard a loud sound which shook some of our houses. Immediately the explosive object hit the ground at the outskirt of Jabo town, it burst into fire." Local sources reported that soldiers from a nearby checkpoint quickly secured the area, collecting the scattered remains of the device for further investigation.
