Our State Doesn’t Rely On FAAC to Pay Salaries – Finance Commissioner

Edo State’s Commissioner for Finance, Engr. Emmanuel Okoebor, clarified that the state government does not depend on federal allocations to meet its salary obligations. He emphasized that all workers under the state’s payroll have already received their January salaries, dispelling rumors of potential delays due to disputes over the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) disbursements.

Okoebor explained that the state had proactively arranged funds to cover January salaries ahead of the FAAC disbursement cycle. “In Edo, we don’t wait for FAAC to pay our workers. January salaries have been settled,” he stated firmly. The commissioner’s remarks came in response to concerns that salary payments might be postponed across states due to disagreements in revenue sharing at the federal level.

By prioritizing financial planning and leveraging internal resources, Edo State ensures timely salary payments, safeguarding workers’ welfare regardless of external fiscal uncertainties.
