Zamfara Govt Cracks Down on Illegal Private Higher Institutions

The Zamfara State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has raised an alarm about the unchecked proliferation of illegal private higher institutions operating in the state. The ministry’s Director of Higher Education issued a stern warning to owners of these unregistered schools, highlighting the severe consequences their activities pose to the education system.

Many of these institutions reportedly lack basic requirements, such as qualified staff and proper facilities, which compromises educational standards. The ministry emphasized that running private higher institutions without official approval breaches current laws and will face strict penalties.

To address the issue, all unregistered private higher institutions have been ordered to report to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology at the JB Yakubu Secretariat from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, for verification and further directives.

The ministry also reaffirmed its dedication to upholding quality education and urged all stakeholders to support efforts to maintain standards in the sector.
