The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, officially presented the motorcycles to the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Abubakar Sani Mohammad, on Tuesday.
The SSG was represented by the Permanent Secretary for Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Abubakar Mohammad Gusau, who explained that the motorcycles are intended to improve police patrols, particularly in hard-to-reach areas where conventional vehicles struggle to operate.
Additionally, the state government has pledged to cover the routine fueling costs of the motorcycles to ensure uninterrupted operations.
According to a statement by Suleman Ahmad Tudu, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the SSG, this initiative is part of Governor Dauda Lawal’s broader strategy to combat crime across Zamfara State.
CSP Abubakar Mohammad, who received the motorcycles on behalf of the Nigerian Police Force, stated that the donation would greatly enhance their ability to track down criminals who exploit difficult terrains for illegal activities. He thanked Governor Lawal for his consistent support in equipping security agencies and vowed that the police would intensify efforts to deliver results.
This donation follows the state government’s previous distribution of over 140 operational vehicles to security agencies in 2025, as well as ongoing logistical support.
In a related development, the Zamfara State Government is currently renovating and remodeling the Gusau Central Police Station and the State Police Command Headquarters at costs of ₦726.9 million and ₦1.4 billion, respectively.
