The exercise was carried out in an orderly and coordinated manner, highlighting the vital role young people play in improving their environment and contributing to community development.
Speaking during the exercise, the group’s chairman, Abdulkadir Adamu Saidu, said the initiative was aimed at addressing the persistent problem of flooding and promoting environmental sanitation, particularly as the rainy season approaches. He noted that the effort was also intended to safeguard public health and prevent the spread of diseases.
Saidu called on government and non-governmental organizations to support such youth-driven initiatives through the provision of tools and resources that would ensure sustainability and greater impact.
In his remarks, a senior member of the group, Usman Adamu, popularly known as Danladi Bakaro, emphasized the importance of communal labour as a means of fostering unity, strengthening social bonds, and encouraging collective responsibility among residents.
Also speaking, the representative of the Ward Head ,Malam Babaliyo Suleiman Danfulani, commended the youths for their discipline and dedication, describing their efforts as a reflection of good upbringing and a strong commitment to the progress of the area.
He further appealed to relevant authorities and stakeholders to provide modern equipment and necessary support to enhance future community development efforts.
Residents of the area expressed satisfaction with the initiative and voiced hope that such collective action would be sustained for the overall development of the community.
