Doka Shinkafi completed the screening process at the PDP state secretariat, where the committee reviewed the credentials and political standing of aspirants ahead of the party primaries. Speaking shortly after submitting his nomination documents, Doka Shinkafi outlined his priorities if elected to represent Shinkafi Constituency. He stressed that security remains the most urgent issue facing Zamfara and made it clear that legislative business cannot proceed in an environment where citizens live in fear. According to him, any member of the assembly must prioritize the protection of lives and property, and he pledged to use his position to press for decisive action on the matter. He stated that the assembly would not be allowed to function in a routine manner while communities continue to suffer from insecurity, noting that the safety of the people must take precedence over all other legislative matters.
The aspirant also addressed comments suggesting that the PDP had lost its relevance in Zamfara. He dismissed such claims, describing them as a misunderstanding of the political reality on the ground. He argued that the PDP remains a strong force in the state and retains the confidence of a wide section of the electorate. Those who left the party, he said, had acted hastily and later realized that the move was a miscalculation. Many, he added, now regret their decision and recognize that the PDP continues to provide the platform for meaningful political participation and service to the people.
Doka Shinkafi’s appearance drew attention from party members and supporters who gathered at the secretariat during the screening. Party officials reiterated that the screening process is designed to assess aspirants based on competence, commitment, and the ability to represent their constituencies effectively. The committee is expected to continue with other aspirants in the coming days as the party works toward presenting credible candidates for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
