The states involved are Lagos, Adamawa, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Ekiti, Imo, Jigawa, Kebbi, Ondo, Taraba, and Yobe.
Lagos State tops the list with an allocation of ₦33 billion, followed by Delta State with ₦14.91 billion. Other states have allocated significant amounts for similar purposes.
The funds will cover:
- Upgrading government lodges and VIP suites
- Acquiring new vehicles, including Toyota Prado SUVs, Jeep models, Hilux pickups, Camry, and Corolla sedans
Some specific allocations include:
- Lagos: ₦20.67 billion for backup vehicles for lawmakers, ₦11.04 billion for rehabilitating the Assembly Complex, and ₦1.15 billion for upgrading state lodges.
- Delta: ₦11.23 billion for procuring 50 Toyota SUVs and 210 other vehicles, ₦2.73 billion for lodge renovation works.
- Taraba: ₦9.57 billion for executive lodge upgrades, including renovating the Government House and lodges.
These allocations have raised questions about the prioritization of spending in these states, particularly given the country's economic challenges.
