Gusau Loses Beloved Emir: HRH Ibrahim Bello Dies at 71

The Emir of Gusau, HRH Ibrahim Bello, has passed away at the age of 71. He died at a private hospital in Abuja after a brief illness. Dr. Bello was a distinguished figure who served as the 15th Emir of Gusau, a position he held since March 16, 2015. 

He was appointed by the then-governor of Zamfara state, Alhaji Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, following the death of his predecessor, Alh Muhammad Kabir Dan Baba.

Before becoming the Emir, Dr. Bello had a remarkable career as a registered nurse, lecturer, and administrator in both Sokoto and Zamfara states. His dedication to public service and his community was evident throughout his life.

The news of his passing has sent shockwaves throughout the region, and his burial arrangements are currently being finalized. The exact time of his burial will be announced soon.
