The project, a partnership between the Kaduna State Government and Qatar Charity, features houses, a school, a clinic, and a shopping mall. Governor Sani emphasized that the project goes beyond providing physical structures, seeking to restore dignity and rebuild lives affected by violence.
The governor described the inauguration as a "solemn act of healing" and a "vow honoured" to the victims of banditry. He noted that the project would directly benefit families affected by violent attacks, providing them with access to free education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
The first phase of the project includes:
- Housing units for victims of banditry
- A fully-equipped school for children of affected families
- A clinic providing essential healthcare services
- Empowerment tools, such as cargo bikes, tricycles, grinding machines, salon kits, and welding equipment, to enable widows, unemployed youths, and displaced persons to regain their livelihoods
Governor Sani praised Qatar Charity for its commitment to humanitarian causes and acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and other security agencies.
The governor assured the people of Kaduna that the commissioning marked the beginning of a comprehensive reconstruction effort, with more projects expected in subsequent phases.
