During the commissioning ceremony, IET Director General Alhaji Arzika Abubakar Rimau emphasized the organization's commitment to strengthening interfaith relationships and promoting peaceful coexistence. "We believe in Nigeria's unity, regardless of religion or tribe," he said.
Rimau highlighted the legacy of Sheikh Ahmed Lemu, a pioneer of interfaith collaboration, and acknowledged the close bond between Lemu and Christian clergy like the late Father O'Connell.
The CAN Chairman in Niger State, Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, expressed gratitude for the IET's gesture, describing it as a symbol of unity that encourages continued collaboration between faiths.
Other dignitaries, including former CAN Chairman Revd. Mathias Echioda and Special Adviser to the Governor on Inter-Tribal Affairs Sir George Dike, praised the IET for its inclusive outreach.
The event also featured the presentation of an award to Ms Victoria Ndagi, a Christian who facilitated the IET's donation, recognizing her role in fostering interfaith collaboration and community development.
