Idris revealed this during a courtesy visit by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students' Matters, Sunday Dare, and the National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Olusola Oladejo.
The governor stated that his administration has paid approximately ₦2.7 billion to settle tuition fees for students studying in Nigeria and abroad. He emphasized that Kebbi State offers total scholarships to students, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on parents.
Idris highlighted his administration's efforts to improve education, including increasing the feeding allowance for boarding students from ₦150 million to ₦300 million monthly. He also mentioned the employment of 5,000 qualified teachers, rehabilitation of 2,004 primary and secondary schools, and construction of over 340 new schools.
The governor commended President Bola Tinubu for supporting infrastructure development in Kebbi State, particularly the construction of the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway. He also thanked the President for introducing the students' loan scheme and expressed his administration's commitment to replicating the Renewed Hope Agenda in the state.
Sunday Dare and Olusola Oladejo praised the Kebbi State government for its initiatives, including free education and the construction of mega schools.
