According to a statement issued by the board's Public Relations Officer, Malam Muhammad Aliyu, the Director of the Board, Alhaji Kadiri Edah, made the announcement at a meeting in Abuja.
Prospective pilgrims are required to book their seats via a bank draft from any commercial bank, payable to the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abuja. The draft and international passport of the intending pilgrim must be submitted to officials of the board at any of the six area councils of the territory before the deadline of December 2.
Edah advised intending pilgrims who had deposited funds for previous Hajj exercises but were unable to participate to declare their intention before the deadline to secure a seat for the forthcoming exercise.
The board has reaffirmed its commitment to improving services for registered pilgrims through new strategies introduced for the 2026 Hajj. Intending pilgrims are warned to beware of fraudsters requesting additional payments outside the approved Hajj fare and to deal directly with the board.
