At a special ceremony in Abuja, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suiwaba Ahmad, celebrated Nafisah's remarkable achievement, describing her as "a beacon of excellence and inspiration to Nigerian youths."
Nafisah, representing Nigeria through the Nigerian Tulip International College, outperformed over 20,000 participants from 69 countries to clinch the world title in the TeenEagle competition, which evaluates students' proficiency in the English language, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Dr. Alausa emphasized the Federal Government's commitment to strengthening foundational education, reducing the number of out-of-school children, and investing in human capital development. He noted that President Bola Tinubu has demonstrated a strong commitment to education, health, and social protection.
The minister announced an additional gift of over ₦100,000 to Nafisah and her colleagues who excelled in other fields. Professor Ahmad commended Nafisah's resilience, intellect, and determination, pledging the Federal Government's continued support for young talents who bring honor to the nation.
In her response, Nafisah thanked President Tinubu, the ministers, her school, and her parents for their support. The Yobe State Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof. Abba Idris, thanked the minister for his gesture and noted that the state government continues to celebrate milestones in the education sector.
