According to the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Tanko Sununu, the government has already disbursed ₦419 billion to five million Nigerians under the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme. The distribution pattern shows that 71% of beneficiaries are in the northern region, while 21% are in the southern region.
The National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO) will identify vulnerable Nigerians based on their lowest cadre in the national social register. The minister assured that the government remains committed to lifting vulnerable citizens through structured interventions.
Additionally, President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated a conditional cash transfer program targeting 15 million households, with each eligible household receiving ₦75,000 within a three-month timeframe.
