The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has strongly condemned the governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for holding a political meeting in Zamfara State, despite the recent wave of deadly bandit attacks that have claimed numerous lives.
In a statement released on Sunday, ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, described the meeting as "insensitive" and "callous," demonstrating a blatant disregard for the lives lost and the suffering of the people.
Abdullahi emphasized that the PDP governors' decision to hold a political meeting in Zamfara at this time was not only ill-timed but also a stark reminder of the party's priorities, which appear to be more focused on political power struggles than the welfare and security of the people.
The ADC spokesperson further noted that the meeting was a missed opportunity for the PDP governors to show empathy and solidarity with the people of Zamfara, who are currently grappling with the devastating consequences of the bandit attacks.
