In a statement, ADC National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi condemned the federal government's handling of the crisis, describing the killings as proof of Nigeria's collapsed security architecture.
The party expressed outrage over the recent massacre in Malumfashi, Katsina State, where 30 worshippers were killed in a mosque and 20 villagers burnt in their homes. It linked the incident to a broader pattern of violence in the region, including the killing of 47 people in Zamfara.
ADC criticized President Tinubu for prioritizing international engagements over urgent domestic crises, saying it is "disheartening" to see him "jet-setting across the world" while Nigerians are dying.
The party also condemned PDP governors for holding a political meeting in Zamfara just days after the massacre, saying it was "totally out of place" and showed a lack of empathy for the victims.
Beyond calling for a state of emergency, ADC urged the federal government to overhaul Nigeria's security architecture, saying the recent call by the Chief of Defence Staff for citizens to acquire self-defence skills is a sign that the current system is failing.
The party accused both the ruling APC and PDP of prioritizing politics over the welfare of Nigerians, saying "neither the ruling APC nor the incurably afflicted PDP care about the people and their suffering. They only care about power and politics."
