The Executive Secretary of NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, confirmed that pilgrimage activities would resume, with pilgrims paying only half of the total cost, thanks to a 50% subsidy provided by the Federal Government.
Adegbite, who recently returned from a trip to Israel, assured that the country is safe for pilgrims and that the Commission has contingencies in place in case of escalating tensions.
The pilgrimage exercise, scheduled to commence on September 14, 2025, will last 10 days, with the inaugural flight departing from Imo State. The government's subsidy will reduce the cost of the pilgrimage to N4.5m per pilgrim.
Adegbite also announced that he would lead an executive pilgrimage with 100 members of the House of Representatives before the main pilgrimage commences.
