Brigade Commander Brig.-Gen. Mustapha Jimoh, represented by Assistant Chief of Staff Lt.-Col. Isah Galadima, explained that the initiative aims to enhance food security and improve civil-military relations.
“We don’t always rely on weapons to fight. Non-kinetic approaches like this help build trust—through food aid, educational support, medical outreach, and community assistance,” Galadima said.
He noted that the effort reflects the vision of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, who emphasizes peacebuilding alongside security operations.
Farmers from Tsafe Local Government Area villages, including Gidan-Giye, Kucheri, Magazu, Bilbis, and Fegin-Baza, received the fertilizer. The Army advised proper use and cautioned against diversion.
The Emir of Tsafe, Alhaji Muhammad Bawa, represented by Senior District Head Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu (Sarkin Gabar), praised the timely support amid this year’s fertilizer scarcity.
Tsafe LGA Vice Chairman Hon. Sani Abdullahi assured oversight to ensure genuine farmers benefit.
A beneficiary, Malam Abubakar Magaji Marafa, thanked the Army, citing high costs that made fertilizer unaffordable for many. “This free supply is a lifeline. We’ll maximize it and pray for the Army’s success,” he said.
