The attack took place during dawn prayers, around 5:30 a.m., when the gunmen stormed the mosque, surrounded it, and kidnapped the worshippers.
According to locals, the abductors took their victims into the forest around the Gohori axis in Tsafe LGA. This incident has thrown the rural community into panic and despondency, especially since local leaders and armed groups had reportedly entered into a peace initiative to reduce attacks during the farming season.
The police authorities in Zamfara have yet to confirm the incident, as attempts to reach the Command's Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent Yazid Abubakar, were unsuccessful.
