Atiku Raises Alarm Over Worsening Hunger, Poverty in Nigeria

Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria's former Vice President, has expressed concern over the widespread hunger and poverty affecting Nigerians. He alleged that President Bola Tinubu's administration has failed to address the hunger crisis, leaving the poor on the brink of desperation.

Atiku warned that unchecked poverty and hunger could lead to widespread unrest, citing historical examples like the French Revolution, the 1917 Russian Revolution, and the Arab Spring. He also drew parallels with Nigeria's own "ENDSARS" protest, which was fueled by frustration over hunger and government insensitivity.

The former Vice President emphasized that economic hardship has long been a catalyst for social revolution. He urged the Tinubu government to prioritize the welfare and security of its citizens, stating that reforms should have a human face.

Atiku's concerns echo his previous statements, where he backed planned nationwide protests against hardship in Nigeria, noting that even supporters of the ruling party are affected by hunger.
