Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended for six months in March, but the Senate has refused to allow her to resume her duties, citing a pending court case.
The PDP has condemned the Senate's action, describing it as a "calculated attempt" to stifle opposition voices and deprive the people of Kogi Central of representation.
Several SANs, including Adedayo Adedeji, Wale Balogun, Paul Obi, and Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, have also criticized the Senate's decision, arguing that it is unconstitutional and unjustifiable.
The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has also condemned the Senate's stance, stating that preventing Akpoti-Uduaghan from resuming her legislative duties is a blatant disregard of the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution and the country's international human rights obligations.
