The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested several suspects for supplying fuel to bandits in Zamfara State.
The suspects were caught with large quantities of petroleum products in jerrycans, which they were transporting to banditry-prone locations.
According to the NSCDC, the suspects violated the Executive Order banning the sale of petroleum products in jerrycans in the state.
The suspects, including filling station pump attendants and buyers, were arrested in different locations, including Birnin Magaji and Tsafe Local Government Areas.
The NSCDC has been working to disrupt the supply chain of bandits in Zamfara State, and this arrest is a significant breakthrough in that effort.
The corps has reiterated its commitment to reducing criminality in the region and has called on the public to provide information that can aid in the fight against banditry.
