Abdullahi Idris Zuru, Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on Communication and Strategy, confirmed the operation in a statement on Sunday.
He praised the troops for their effectiveness, calling it a critical milestone in the state’s efforts to combat banditry.
The clash occurred in Ngaski Local Government Area following a strategic deployment of troops along Kebbi’s borders with Sokoto, Zamfara, and Niger States.
Governor Nasir Idris had earlier requested military reinforcements to strengthen border security, a move that has reportedly disrupted bandit activities and improved stability in previously vulnerable communities.
