Governor Ahmed Aliyu announced the intervention during a condolence visit to the affected communities, where he presented cash and food relief to bereaved families, injured victims, and displaced residents.
In Isa Local Government Area, the governor presented ₦2 million and five bags of rice each to the 65 families of those killed, while ₦250,000 and three bags of rice each went to five people who sustained injuries. He also donated ₦20 million and 1,200 bags of food items to IDPs, bringing the total assistance in Isa to ₦151.25 million and 1,240 bags of food.
Similarly, in Sabon Birni LGA, 61 families of those killed received ₦2 million and five bags of rice each. The state government also provided ₦20 million for IDPs and 1,200 bags of food items, totalling ₦122 million and 1,300 bags.
Aliyu condemned the rising insecurity in the region, warning that his administration will introduce tough laws to punish informants who aid bandits. He urged citizens to report suspicious movements and reiterated support for security agencies, citing interventions like the distribution of patrol vehicles and the establishment of a new military base in Illela LGA.
Local government chairmen praised the governor’s empathy and commitment to victims’ welfare.
Separately, suspected bandits killed 15 people and injured others in Kwallajiya community, Tangaza LGA. The attackers, reportedly led by a notorious kingpin, stormed the village and opened fire indiscriminately.
The governor called for prayers to complement government efforts against insecurity.
