PDP Crisis Worsens: Suspended Anyanwu Faction Takes Action Against Damagum

The internal crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party deepened as factions clashed over leadership. A group aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory announced the suspension of the party’s Acting National Chairman, alongside several other officials.

The suspended National Secretary, speaking on behalf of the faction, cited incompetence, financial misconduct, and disregard for court rulings as reasons for the decision. The group also appointed a new Acting National Chairman from the North Central region.

The faction further suspended other high-ranking officials, including the National Publicity Secretary, Deputy National Vice Chairman, National Financial Secretary, National Youth Leader, and Deputy National Secretary, citing various violations. These individuals were directed to face disciplinary proceedings.

Meanwhile, the party’s leadership under the Acting National Chairman had earlier announced the suspension of the same National Secretary, the National Legal Adviser, and two others, escalating the conflict within the party.
