The political atmosphere in Zamfara has taken a new turn as top leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) visited the Secretariat of Senator Kabiru Marafa’s Political Forum to deliver a special message, urging the Senator to join their party.
A statement issued in Gusau and signed by Dr. Mannir Bature, Secretary of the Senator Kabiru Marafa Consultative Forum, revealed that following the visit, Marafa—who recently resigned from the APC—may join the ADC and contest the Zamfara governorship race under the party’s platform.
Key ADC stakeholders present at the visit included Alhaji Jafaru Lawali-Gusau, Dr. Ahmad Hashim, the party’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate Dr. Abubakar Muhammad, and Auwal Imam, among other senior figures. The delegation expressed their desire for Senator Marafa to join the ADC, describing the move as a bold political step in Zamfara.
Political observers have highlighted Marafa’s strong political pedigree, widespread popularity, and longstanding reputation as a fearless advocate for the voiceless. During the meeting, ADC leaders praised him as a “Man of Integrity,” a “Man of the People,” and a “Fearless Voice of the Voiceless,” noting that his politics of justice, honesty, and accountability aligns with the party’s values.
The ADC delegation was received by the Chairman of the forum, Abubakar Gora, alongside a gathering of Marafa’s political loyalists. Gora commended the ADC for the visit, acknowledging it as a testament to Marafa’s enduring political influence and cross-party respect. He assured the delegation that their request would be conveyed to the Senator for consideration.
The meeting concluded cordially, with both sides stressing the importance of political alliances built on integrity, shared values, and a steadfast commitment to the welfare of Zamfara’s people.
