In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, the Speaker described the attack as cowardly and unfortunate, particularly as it occurred shortly after Nigeria and the United States launched a joint counter-terrorism operation, including strikes on terrorist hideouts in the North West.
The attack involved an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted along the Magami-Dansadau highway in Maru Local Government Area on Saturday, killing passengers in a bus.
Speaker Abbas reaffirmed the government’s resolve to resist terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities, highlighting new security measures introduced by President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He emphasized that Nigerians remain resilient and supportive of efforts to safeguard lives and property.
Additionally, he reiterated the commitment of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly to provide legislative and budgetary support for a safer Nigeria.
