During a political gathering in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Wike reiterated his stance on the importance of strategic loyalty and binding agreements in politics.
The event, part of his statewide consultations, saw attendance from local leaders, including Emohua Chairman Chidi Lloyd and traditional ruler Sergeant Awuse.
Wike urged the Ikwerre ethnic group to maintain its political influence, warning against stagnation or exclusion.
He argued that relevance is achieved through deliberate actions and steadfastness, not by shifting allegiances after electoral victories.
The former Rivers governor also dismissed the notion that endorsing Tinubu post-2023 elections guarantees future electoral success, stressing that politics requires clear commitments, not superficial loyalty.
Earlier, Lloyd reiterated Emohua’s backing for Tinubu and Wike, while in Isiokpo (Ikwerre LGA), Samuel Nwanosike, a former council chairman, dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a viable threat, reaffirming local support for Wike’s leadership.
