Speaking at the Council Chambers of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, the Governor stated that the budget reflects a commitment to consolidating progress and laying stronger foundations for sustainable growth.
The budget allocates ₦698.9 billion (70.9%) to capital expenditure, focusing on infrastructure development, economic expansion, and improved service delivery. Recurrent expenditure is set at ₦287 billion (29.1%) to ensure efficient and responsible government operations.
Education’s 25% share underscores the belief that knowledge is key to breaking poverty and securing children’s futures. Infrastructure and rural transformation also receive 25%, aimed at connecting communities and boosting economic activity. Health is allocated 15%, emphasizing the importance of a healthy population, while agriculture and food security get 11.65% to support farmers and local economies.
The budget also includes provisions for climate change, nutrition, and environmental sustainability, addressing current challenges and future responsibilities. Titled "Consolidation of Transformation for Inclusive Development," it prioritizes correcting historical exclusion by allocating ₦100 million per ward for community-driven projects, empowering grassroots decision-making.
The administration emphasizes fiscal discipline, with no new loans in the 2026 budget and ₦114.9 billion already paid in debt servicing. The Governor described the budget as a promise of progress and improved quality of life, stressing that its success hinges on effective implementation and collaboration with the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
He reaffirmed the commitment to peace and inclusive development, pledging to build a Kaduna State that works for all.
