Bandits Strike Again, Abduct Passengers After Burning Buses in Zamfara

Armed bandits targeted travelers on the Danjibga–Kalgo route in Zamfara State, setting two vehicles on fire and taking all passengers hostage. Witnesses reported that the assailants blocked the road before carrying out the assault.

Local sources indicate the victims' current location remains unknown. A security monitoring group, Bakatsine, verified the incident, emphasizing the ongoing dangers along key roads in the region.

This attack follows recent efforts by security forces to restore safety on another major highway in Zamfara. Authorities had recently cleared the Gusau–Magami–Dansadau Road after an explosive device detonated there, killing several people and damaging property. The cleanup operation involved bomb disposal teams and military personnel working to ensure the route was free of further threats.

Despite these measures, violence continues to disrupt travel in the area, leaving residents and commuters vulnerable to further attacks.
