Government prosecutor David Kaswe requested the warrant, noting that witnesses were present but the accused were absent. The defendants—Musa Kamarawa, Abubakar Hashimu (alias "Doctor"), Samuel Chinedu, and Lucky Chukwuma—had previously denied the charges but did not show up for the hearing. Their lawyer, A.M. Lukman, claimed he had contacted Kamarawa, who assured him of their appearance, but they were nowhere to be found.
The case, which involves serious terrorism allegations, was reopened in December 2025 after being dismissed earlier due to delays in prosecution. The suspects are accused of supplying weapons, drugs, and logistical support to Turji’s terror network, operating in Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kaduna states.
One of the key charges involves Kamarawa and others allegedly facilitating the purchase of a military gun truck from Libya for N28.5 million, which was later used by terrorist leader Kachalla Halilu. Another charge accuses them of providing medical aid to Turji after a violent attack in Zamfara.
The trial has faced multiple delays, including the absence of the lead prosecutor on previous dates. The case has now been adjourned to February 24 for further proceedings.
