In a statement and video message shared with The Spectacles by Comrade Waliyyi, Branch Secretary of JOHESU at FMC Gusau, the union condemned the policy as punitive and unjust, arguing that it undermines their legitimate demands for improved welfare, better working conditions, and timely implementation of agreements with the government.
"The 'no work, no pay' rule is an attempt to intimidate us into abandoning our struggle, but we remain unwavering," Comrade Sani declared during the congress. "Our demands are non-negotiable, and we will not surrender until the government addresses them."
The strike, which will disrupt services at federal hospitals and other health facilities across the nation, reflects broader tensions between healthcare workers and the Federal Government over unresolved labor disputes. JOHESU members reaffirmed their solidarity, vowing to sustain the strike indefinitely until their grievances are met.
