Jaji, who leads the Jajiyya Political Movement, accused former Zamfara State governor Abdulaziz Yari and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, of taking control of the registration process.
In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Jaji expressed his concerns, stating that he observed the APC’s e-registration in Zamfara and was unsurprised by the tactics used. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the people’s aspirations rather than political manipulation.
He referenced the 2023 elections, where an underdog candidate won due to public support, defeating the incumbent governor. Jaji also recalled a similar situation in 2019 involving former governor Ahmed Sani Yeriman Bakura, where attempts to control party registration backfired.
Jaji urged his supporters and the Jajiyya Family to remain calm, expressing confidence in the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, to address their grievances.
He warned that the alleged hijacking of the registration process undermines fairness, inclusivity, and internal democracy within the APC, which could weaken the party’s unity in Zamfara.
Jaji called on the APC’s national leadership to conduct an independent investigation into the allegations and take corrective action against any officials involved in exclusionary practices. He also requested clear operational guidelines to ensure compliance with party rules during the e-registration.
Additionally, he appealed to the media and independent observers to monitor the process objectively, reaffirming his group’s commitment to transparency, due process, and accountability within the APC.
