The motorcycles were distributed at the NAOWA Leisure Park under the Barracks Women Empowerment Scheme, a program focused on uplifting the living standards of soldiers' families. Major General Ajose, who also leads Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force in the North West, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the Nigerian Army’s dedication to troop welfare and their dependents.
He explained that the motorcycles would help women involved in petty trading by easing transportation challenges, expanding their market reach, and enabling business growth. The effort is in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s vision to improve morale and living conditions through meaningful support programs.
Hajiya Amina Adamu, the Magajiya of Giginya Cantonment, received the motorcycles on behalf of the beneficiaries and thanked the General for the timely assistance. She promised fair distribution and proper upkeep of the bikes to ensure long-term benefits for all recipients.
The ceremony was attended by senior military officers, the Chairperson of the 8 Division NAOWA, members of the Nigerian Army Soldiers’ Wives Association, and families of personnel. The event ended with a symbolic key handover, souvenir presentations, and group photos.
This initiative highlights the Nigerian Army’s ongoing commitment to fostering economic resilience among military families in the North West region.
