Hon. Hassan Muhammad Daudawa has officially taken over as the Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State. The handover ceremony took place today at the party’s state headquarters in Samaru, Gusau. This follows the dissolution of the former state executive by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) on December 22, 2025.
The NWC appointed a caretaker committee to oversee the party’s affairs for 90 days, with Hon. Daudawa as Chairman and Muhammad Danbuba as Secretary. During the handover, Daudawa promised to unite the party, strengthen grassroots support, and prepare for the election of a new executive. The committee is expected to resolve internal disputes and organize congresses within the given timeframe.
Outgoing officials pledged their support, while party members welcomed the change as an opportunity to rebuild the party’s influence in Zamfara. The next three months will be crucial as the PDP prepares for upcoming elections and works to retain its footing in the state’s political landscape.
