In a fierce crackdown on terror, Nigerian soldiers from the 8 Division Garrison Strike Force (Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 2) stormed the Sububu Forests of Maradun LGA, Zamfara State, dealing a heavy blow to armed groups. The operation wiped out six terrorists, seized weapons, destroyed hideouts, and freed a kidnapped child.
The assault began at Indulumu village, where troops killed two terrorists and captured an AK-47 rifle. Pushing deeper into Ruduno village, they eliminated four more fighters, seizing another rifle, a loaded magazine, and torching two motorcycles used by the militants for raids.
Amid the chaos, soldiers discovered and rescued Halira Ibrahim, a young girl held captive in the forest, reuniting her with her family. The raid also leveled terrorist bases in Magaji, Galakaje, Filinga, and Kukatara—smashing their supply networks and safe houses.
Captain Adewusi, the operation’s spokesperson, confirmed the strikes have crippled the militants’ grip on the region.
