Zamfara Govt Completes JB Secretariat Upgrade, Set for February Handover

The Zamfara State Government is nearing the final phase of the comprehensive renovation, furnishing, and equipping of the JB Yakubu Secretariat Complex, with delivery expected in February 2026.

Suleman Ahmad Tudu, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Secretary of the Zamfara State Government, confirmed this in a statement.

During an inspection on Tuesday, the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, assessed Block C of the complex and commended the quality of work done. The renovation, handled by Sources Plus Nigeria Limited, is now fully completed, with only furniture installation remaining, which is expected to be finished in the coming weeks.

Nakwada expressed optimism about the project’s timeline but urged the contractor to address minor observations to ensure the highest standards.

Earlier, Governor Dauda Lawal commissioned the first and second phases of the project, covering Blocks A and B, which are already operational. These sections now feature solar power and Wi-Fi connectivity, improving service delivery for the state’s civil servants.

The JB Yakubu Secretariat, over 30 years old, had suffered from neglect and lacked significant renovations despite housing multiple ministries, departments, and agencies. Governor Lawal’s administration has prioritized modernizing office facilities, acknowledging that a conducive work environment is crucial for productivity and efficient public service.
